Dr. Katie is a 2008 graduate of the University of Rhode Island where she received her DPT degree in physical therapy. Upon completion of her doctoral degree, Dr. Katie started her journey of physical therapy by treating at a short-term rehabilitation facility. She took the opportunity early in her career to explore multiple areas of practice to gain experience in homecare, acute and subacute hospitalization as well as outpatient settings. It was not until after having her 3 children that she discovered a passion for pelvic health physical therapy. Dr. Katie was faced with the challenges of a high risk twin pregnancy. Ultimately it was this experience that provoked a deeper understanding and appreciation for the specialty of pelvic health physical therapy.
Dr. Katie has gained a well-rounded perspective of movement dysfunctions and their impacts on daily life. A passion for yoga, strength training and a love of all things "movement" allows her to share a unique perspective on rehabilitation. She is able to integrate these interests into her therapeutic treatments with the main goal of improving both the physical health and overall well being of her patients. Katie is excited to bring her knowledge and experience to her patients and community.
